VIOFO RWE800 4K HDR Waterproof Rear Camera For A229 Ultra Series

The VIOFO RWE800 is a 4K HDR waterproof rear camera that delivers high-resolution recording for the A229 Ultra dash cam series. Equipped with a high-performance Sony STARVIS 2 sensor, this external-mount device is designed for vehicles requiring extreme rear-view clarity in all weather conditions. It serves as the ideal upgrade for drivers using pickups, trucks, or vehicles with heavily tinted rear glass.

4K Resolution with Sony STARVIS 2 Sensor

The VIOFO RWE800 records in 4K resolution utilizing the advanced Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 sensor. This technical foundation ensures superior image fidelity compared to standard 1080p rear cameras. The sensor is optimized for high-speed motion, allowing the camera to capture sharp details even when the vehicle is in motion. It provides the clarity needed for identifying important evidence in traffic incidents.

IP67 Waterproof Rating for Exterior Mounting

This rear camera features an IP67 rating, confirming full protection against water ingress during rain or snow. It is engineered to be mounted on the vehicle exterior, such as above a license plate, without risking internal circuitry failure. The housing remains sealed against environmental debris, ensuring reliable performance in harsh driving conditions. Does it hold up to heavy rain? Yes, the unit is fully weather-sealed for outdoor operation.

F1.5 Aperture for Enhanced Night Vision

The lens utilizes an F1.5 aperture to maximize light intake in low-light environments. By gathering more light, the system produces clearer footage during night driving than lenses with higher aperture values. This design is critical for recording license plates in dark conditions where visibility is typically limited. The hardware provides the necessary light sensitivity to ensure stable video output throughout the night.

HDR Technology for High-Contrast Scenes

Advanced HDR technology balances extremely bright and dark lighting to preserve image details in challenging conditions. This process prevents highlights from washing out and shadows from losing definition, resulting in balanced exposures. It ensures that critical details like license plate numbers remain legible during sunset or tunnel exits. The feature is essential for maintaining constant recording quality while driving through varied lighting environments.
