Viofo RTC420 2K HDR Telephoto Camera for A329T/T330/T340 Dash Cam with 1M Cable Length

Advanced 2K HDR Video with Sony STARVIS 2 Sensor

This telephoto camera delivers stunning 2K video recordings, powered by a Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 sensor. The advanced HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology effectively balances extremely bright and dark areas within the frame. This capability perfectly solves overexposure issues, revealing important details and capturing accurate license plates in varied lighting conditions, from bright daylight to low-light scenarios.

Seamless Compatibility with VIOFO A329T and A329TW Dash Cams

The RTC420 telephoto camera is purpose-built for the VIOFO A329T/T330/T340 series dash cam front units. It connects directly to the dedicated telephoto port on these models, functioning as either an upgrade for systems purchased without a telephoto camera or as a direct replacement. This ensures a plug-and-play experience, with the front unit immediately recognizing the camera without requiring firmware updates.

Enhanced License Plate Capture for Critical Evidence

The RTC420's design, featuring a narrow field of view and optical magnification, is specifically engineered for license plate capture. In critical situations such as hit-and-run incidents, road rage events, or insurance disputes, readable license plate footage is invaluable. This camera ensures that plate numbers are resolvable at distances where most wide-angle cameras cannot capture such detail, providing definitive evidence.

Complements Front Camera for Comprehensive Coverage

Designed to work in conjunction with your VIOFO A329T/T330/T340 series front camera, the RTC420 telephoto camera seamlessly complements its wide-angle view. While the front camera captures broad scenes, the RTC420 focuses on crucial distant details. This dual-camera setup provides enhanced recording coverage, offering both context and zoomed-in clarity essential for complete incident documentation.

What is included in the VIOFO RTC420 telephoto camera package?

The VIOFO RTC420 package includes the telephoto camera unit, a dedicated telephoto camera cable for connection, a spare 3M sticky pad for mounting, and a user guide. These components provide everything necessary for installation and operation.

Is the VIOFO RTC420 telephoto camera compatible with dash cams other than the A329 series?

No, the VIOFO RTC420 telephoto camera is specifically designed for compatibility with only the VIOFO A329T/T330/T340 series front dash cam units. It connects via a dedicated telephoto port found exclusively on these models, ensuring proper functionality and integration.

How does the 4x optical zoom on the RTC420 differ from digital zoom found on other cameras?

The RTC420 features true 4x optical zoom, meaning it uses physical lens elements to magnify the image before it hits the sensor, capturing full 2K resolution detail from a distance. Digital zoom merely crops and enlarges existing pixels, leading to a significant loss of image quality as magnification increases.

What kind of image sensor does the VIOFO RTC420 telephoto camera use for recording?

The VIOFO RTC420 telephoto camera is powered by a high-performance Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 sensor. This advanced sensor, combined with HDR technology, ensures the camera can deliver sharp, detailed 2K video recordings in various lighting conditions, making critical details like license plates more legible.
