VIOFO CPL-200 Circular Polarizing Lens Filter

VIOFO CPL-200 is a circular polarizing lens filter that eliminates windshield glare to increase dash cam video clarity. This specialized accessory improves color saturation and provides a protective barrier for the camera lens against environmental hazards. It is the essential upgrade for drivers seeking to achieve high-contrast footage in various lighting conditions.

Glare Reduction: Eliminates Windshield Reflections

The VIOFO CPL-200 filter effectively removes reflections and glare from glass, metal, and vehicle dashboards. By filtering out distracting light, it ensures the dash cam captures clear footage of the road ahead rather than a mirror image of the car interior. This polarization works similarly to polarized sunglasses, significantly improving image clarity during bright daylight hours.

Color Saturation: Enhances Video Quality

The CPL filter produces vivid colors by managing light intake and reducing washed-out highlights in strong sun. By filtering incoming light, it maintains an appropriate level of contrast even in challenging lighting conditions. Users will notice that road signage and environments appear with more depth, resulting in more natural and detailed video recordings.

Lens Protection: Shield Against Scratches and Dust

This accessory serves as a protective shield, guarding the underlying camera lens from fingerprints, scratches, and dirt accumulation. The multi-resistant coating is specifically designed to be dust-resistant and scratch-resistant. This prevents environmental damage from permanently affecting the dash cam lens, ensuring long-term hardware durability.

Simple Calibration: Precision Alignment Symbols

The VIOFO CPL-200 is pre-calibrated in factory to ensure maximum effectiveness immediately upon installation. To achieve the correct polarization angle, users simply need to match the white line symbols found on the filter with the corresponding markers on the VIOFO camera lens. This alignment ensures optimal optical performance across all compatible camera models.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the CPL-200 lens filter at night?

Yes, it can be used during both daytime and at night. While primarily designed to combat daylight glare, the filter does not need to be removed for evening driving conditions.

How do I know if the CPL filter is installed correctly?

You must align the white symbols on the filter with the white markers on the camera lens. This factory-calibrated alignment ensures the polarization is set to the optimal angle for your windshield.

Will this filter fit my VIOFO dash cam?

The CPL-200 is compatible with A329S, A329, A229, A139, A139 PRO, T130, and WM1 models. It is designed to fit directly onto the front-facing camera lens of these specific units.

Does the CPL-200 filter help with dashboard reflections?

Yes, it is designed to remove reflections from surfaces such as the vehicle's dashboard, water, and glass. This results in a cleaner view of the road by preventing interior light from obscuring the image.
