The Thinkware Interior Infrared Cabin Camera is designed to provide clear, comprehensive video coverage of your vehicle's interior. This camera is an essential accessory for ride-share drivers, taxi services, fleet managers, or any driver who needs to document activity inside their vehicle. Its primary benefit is delivering consistent, high-quality footage day or night, ensuring that critical details are captured when they matter most. This camera works in tandem with the Thinkware U3000 PRO dash cam, offering an integrated solution for enhanced surveillance.

Day and Night Visibility

Equipped with two Infrared (IR) LEDs and a 120-degree wide viewing angle, this camera excels in low-light conditions. The IR LEDs emit a wavelength of 950 nm, effectively illuminating the cabin without being visible to the human eye, allowing for clear recordings even in complete darkness. During the day, the camera captures footage in full color, providing a natural representation of the interior environment. A unique characteristic of this camera is that its IR sensors are permanently active. This means that even daytime recordings will have a slight purple tint, which is normal and indicates that the infrared monitoring system is fully operational.

High-Definition Recording

The Interior Infrared Cabin Camera records video at Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) at 30 frames per second, utilizing a 2-megapixel sensor. This ensures that the captured footage is detailed enough to identify individuals, actions, and important objects within the cabin. The 120-degree diagonal viewing angle provides broad coverage, minimizing blind spots and ensuring that most of the interior space is visible. While this camera captures excellent video, it is important to note that it does not record audio. All audio is captured exclusively by the main Thinkware U3000 PRO front dash cam unit.

Integration and Installation

This camera is specifically designed to be compatible with the Thinkware U3000 PRO dash cam. It can be connected simultaneously with the rear-view camera, meaning no additional equipment is required to run both an interior and a rear camera with the U3000 PRO. The camera comes with a 0.5-meter (1.6 ft) cable for connection. Installation is straightforward, and Thinkware recommends recording a test clip and reviewing the saved footage to verify the correct installation angle for optimal field of view. It's important to be aware that the Interior Infrared Cabin Camera and the LTE Module cannot be used simultaneously with the U3000 PRO.

Built to withstand varying environmental conditions, the Interior Infrared Cabin Camera operates reliably within a temperature range of -10°C to 60°C (14°F to 140°F). Its compact dimensions (61.1 x 30.5 x 32.3 mm) and lightweight design (28g) make it easy to mount discreetly within the vehicle. The camera is designed for long-term use, with a storage temperature range of -20°C to 70°C (-4°F to 158°F). This camera provides essential interior surveillance, complementing the U3000 PRO's road-facing recording for a complete view of your driving environment.
