Add-A-Fuse taps let you power a dash cam hardwire cable or a battery pack charging cable straight from your vehicle's fuse panel, without cutting or splicing any factory wiring. Pick the fuse style your car uses, then the fuse amperage that matches your device.
Choose Your Fuse Type
- 2 of Each (8 pcs): Two each of Low-Profile Mini, Mini, Micro2 and ATO taps. A three-wire hardwire kit normally needs one constant-power and one ignition-switched connection, so two of every style covers both. Micro3 is not included.
- 1 of Each (4 pcs): One each of Low-Profile Mini, Mini, Micro2 and ATO taps. Most battery packs need only a single switched charging connection, so you install whichever style fits. Micro3 is not included.
- Single-style pairs: Already know your fuse style? Order just two Micro2, Low-Profile Mini, Mini or ATO taps.
- 2 Micro3: A separate pair for vehicles with three-blade Micro3 fuses, common in many newer GM trucks and SUVs. Micro3 is a different fuse from Micro2 and is not interchangeable.
Choose Your Fuse Amperage
- 5 AMP: For dash cam hardwire installations.
- 15 AMP: For battery pack installations such as the Viofo BP100.
- 20 AMP: For battery pack installations such as the Thinkware iVolt series.
Always check your own device's manual for the recommended fuse rating.
Before You Install
- Check your owner's manual or fuse diagram to confirm which fuse style your car uses.
- Use a circuit tester to find one circuit that is always live and one that only turns on with the ignition. A spare-looking slot is not always a usable one.
- Wire colors differ between hardwire kits. Go by the labels and instructions of your own cable (constant power, ignition power and ground) rather than assuming red and yellow.
- Keep the original fuse for the factory circuit at its specified rating. Do not raise it to match the new fuse.
- Route wires away from pedals, steering controls and airbags. If you cannot identify a suitable circuit, ask a professional installer.
Good to Know
- A fuse tap is only the connection point. It does not manage power, sense ignition or protect your car battery from draining. Your hardwire kit or battery pack handles that.
- Cables, a circuit tester and installation tools are not included.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which kit should I get for hardwiring a dash cam?
Choose 2 of Each with 5 AMP if your vehicle uses one of the four standard fuse styles, because a three-wire hardwire kit needs two fuse connections. If your car uses Micro3 fuses, choose the Micro3 pair.
Why does the battery pack kit only have one of each?
Most battery packs need only one switched charging connection. You get all four common styles so you can use whichever matches your fuse box.
Are Micro2 and Micro3 the same?
No. They are different fuse types and the taps are not interchangeable.
Does this replace a hardwire kit?
No. It connects a power cable to your fuse panel. You still need a hardwire cable or battery pack cable.
